Folks,

Families in New Mexico and across the country are struggling to afford everyday costs. A major piece of that has been rising fossil fuel energy prices - which deliver record profits to Big Oil CEOs while families shoulder the cost.

Meanwhile, the climate crisis is getting worse by the day. Our children and future generations are counting on us to act. From the wildfires and floods in New Mexico to heatwaves around the world — the crisis is here and getting worse. Fellow Senators and I have called on President Biden to declare a climate emergency.

We need to lower the high costs facing families and take on the climate crisis. Investing in clean energy and electrification does both. By investing in clean energy, we can stabilize and lower energy costs for good. And making electrification accessible for all families ensures that those lower costs show up in your home utility bills and daily commute.

If you're with me and agree that we need to address climate change and rising fossil fuel energy costs at the same time, add your name:

We can and should act now to reverse the worst effects of climate change and put money back in people's pockets at the same time. That’s why I've prioritized legislation like my Zero-Emissions Homes Act to make it more affordable for families to upgrade to electric appliances. I also pushed for major climate action in the bipartisan infrastructure bill — including the first-ever national electric vehicle charging network.

But we can’t stop here. Addressing climate change has to be a priority for every major piece of legislation we consider. It is so deeply embedded in our everyday lives.

We must use every tool at our disposal — from swiftly passing climate legislation to urging the Biden administration to use their power to address this growing crisis.

Please, add your name to support taking action on climate change and rising fossil fuel energy costs:

We don’t get a do-over on our climate. Thank you for taking action.
