Today, I want to talk about my friend and colleague, Rep. Susan Wild.

Susan is the first Democrat elected to represent the Lehigh Valley in nearly two decades. She replaced a seven-term Republican incumbent, and now, she's fighting for Pennsylvania families in Congress.

Now, Susan is facing a tough race in the primary. Polling currently rates her district as a “toss-up” and “lean Republican”.

In the House, Susan has been a fierce advocate for justice and fighting for working-class families. As a cosponsor of the For the People Act, Susan shares my urgency and resolve to protect and improve our country’s democratic institutions so that the American people are put first.

Together, Susan and I supported the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the first significant gun safety legislation passed by Congress in nearly 30 years. This historic legislation is a major step in the fight to curb gun violence and is a testament to what we can accomplish when Democrats are in charge.
