Greetings from the City of Auburn  |  Friday, July 22, 2022

It's HOT out there, and we hope you're staying safe and cool.

The heat is on! And the weekend ahead looks hot as well. If you need a place to cool down this weekend, please feel free to spend some time at the beautiful (and COOL!) Norway Savings Bank Arena (985 Turner Street). The arena will be open as a community cooling center from 10AM to 3PM this Saturday and Sunday. The Auburn Public Library (49 Spring Street) is also a lovely spot to cool down; they are open Saturday from 9AM to 1PM.

NSBA is also offering public skate on Sunday at 3:50PM. It is $5 to skate and $5 for skate rental.
Next week offers LOTS of family-friendly fun here in Auburn:
On Tuesday, July 26 at 6:00PM, our Summer Acoustic Music Series continues with Jud Caswell. Join us in beautiful Anniversary Park (New Auburn, behind Rolly's Diner) for LIVE music along the Androscoggin River. Bring a chair or enjoy our 'amphitheater' park seating.
Our Movies in the Park series continues on Wednesday, July 27! Come on down to the Municipal Beach at Lake Grove Park (Lake Auburn) for the animated, family-friendly movie, "Shark Tale." Be sure to bring chairs.
There are a couple of community-based meetings in New Auburn next week.
The United New Auburn Association will meet on Tuesday, July 26 at 6:00PM at Rolly's Diner. The special guest speaker will be Auburn's Director of Transportation Systems (and former mayor) Jonathan LaBonté.
And the Auburn Police Department's New Auburn Neighborhood Watch meeting will be held on Thursday, July 28 at 6:00PM at the Sixth Street Congregational Church. All are welcome.
Have a great weekend and stay cool!
