Over the past few years, thanks to the hard work and commitment of supporters like you, Washington has led the nation in enacting comprehensive, evidence-based policies to protect our communities from gun violence. Last legislative session alone, we passed TEN gun responsibility bills.

Our work to strengthen our gun laws is not done. Next session, we have the opportunity to enact more innovative policies that will close deadly loopholes, keep guns out of dangerous hands, and ensure our existing laws are effectively implemented.

Over the last few months, we’ve been hard at work developing our 2020 priorities. Our legislative agenda is the result of collaboration with and feedback from our broad coalition of partners, policy experts, and supporters.

The Alliance for Gun Responsibility’s 2020 Agenda provides a bold roadmap for the Washington State Legislature to continue leading the way on gun violence prevention.

Some highlights include:
* Restricting access to high-capacity magazines
* Requiring background checks for ammunition sales
* Addressing the intersection of alcohol abuse and gun violence
* Keeping kids safe from guns where they learn and play
* Supporting community-based violence prevention programs
