Right now, governors are on the frontlines of the fight to defend choice across the country.

There are millions of women across Maine and America who are worried right now – worried that their right to a safe and legal abortion is near its end; worried about what that uncertainty could mean for their health, their lives, and their futures; and worried about what this draft decision says about the values of our nation and their place in it.

Well, I want to be very clear: Gov. Whitmer and I do not consider the rights of women to be dispensable – and that’s why we’re both fighting to protect choice.

Both as Attorney General and as Governor, I have fought to protect the reproductive rights of Maine people, but one election can change the course of history in this state. If we don’t win here and in Michigan, radicals will begin dismantling reproductive rights.
