Hey Folks,

Just weeks after overturning Roe v. Wade and enacting abortion bans across the country, the GOP has turned their sights to a familiar target: same-sex marriage.

Recently Ted Cruz said this: “In Obergefell the Court said, 'no, we know better than you,' and now every state must sanction and permit gay marriage. That decision was clearly wrong when it was decided.”

Republicans are trying to turn back the clock, back to a time when it was illegal to marry the person you love, abortions were dangerous and done in secret, and where interracial marriages were against the law.

Virginia’s empty vest of a governor supports “returning the rights to states,” and “protecting the rights of lawmakers to make laws.”

Virginia is for lovers – and it must stay that way. There should be no room for bigots and racists here in our Commonwealth — yet politicians like Cruz, Youngkin, Bob Good, and a host of other Republicans here at home and around the nation continue to feed into it.

They’re going after everything we hold dear, folks, and they’re doing it with a smile.

We’re asking you to chip in today so we can continue to protect Virginians from these craven ideologues who want to turn the clock back to the 1950s. We need folks who think it’s important to fight for the right for all Virginians to marry who they love – and who want to stop Ted Cruz and Glenn Youngkin’s anti-love agenda. Will you chip in to make your voice heard, and help Democrats regain the legislative majority needed in Virginia to codify the right to marriage equality?
