John, let’s take
a moment to put things into perspective from the campaign world.

For a competitive House race, candidates might raise hundreds of
thousands, even MILLIONS of dollars. We saw Sen. Warnock raise a whopping
$17.2 million over the last 3 months in his race alone.

Now these races are important, and because of how high-profile they are
money comes rolling in. But, members of Congress and the Senate alone are
not going to be able to enact the kind of change we need IMMEDIATELY.

As we speak, states are preparing to drop trigger laws to take advantage
of the Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe. Women all over the country
are going to be in danger and need protection.

That work — that can happen in your city, in your town right now — is
going to be done by local leaders. And District Attorneys are those
powerful local leaders that are already actively pledging to not prosecute
women for seeking abortions.

But the reality is that DA races just don’t have the high profile needed
to raise the kind of money a Congressional candidate can — even having
such a critical role in this fight for our abortion rights. Some DAs only
raise $40,000 for their entire campaigns.

That’s why we are working hard to defend DAs who are protecting abortion
rights. They will be facing unprecedented attacks from conservatives in
the coming months and we need to be ready to support their campaigns.

who might be the next target, and support more races to elect even more
pro-choice DA allies across the country?

We are already seeing the attacks begin.

In Philadelphia, conservatives are trying to impeach Larry Krasner. In
Texas, our DAs have strong Republican challengers in November, and the
legislature is trying to pass a law to allow DAs from neighboring
jurisdictions prosecute abortion cases if our pro-choice DAs refuse.

It’s clear that our DAs need the resources to defend themselves so they
can keep up their work to defend the people they represent from far-right,
anti-choice elected officials.

And right now, to be very honest, DAs are just not raising the kind of
funds they need on their own. That’s why we need your support to help put
up the defenses around them NOW.

a donation right now to our DA Defense Fund to defend these critical,
local changemakers doing the immediate work to protect women’s rights and
help all those who can get pregnant.

In solidarity,

Real Justice
