Greetings!

I wanted to take a moment to share with you a recap on what happened this week in Texas' 22nd District and the United States House of Representatives.
This Week in Washington
Questioned Department of Transportation Secretary
Pete Buttigieg
This week, I questioned United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) Secretary Pete Buttigieg about President Joe Biden’s current mental state.

Sadly, we have seen President Biden shake hands with ghosts and imaginary people, he falls off bicycles, the Easter Bunny has been tasked to guide him away from reporters, and his cue cards say, 'end of speech', which he actually states out loud. President Biden is unfit for the Presidency, and the results of his bad policies are further proof that he is failing the American people. Secretary Buttigieg himself said, "If our Presidency is not in good shape, then our country is not in good shape." I could not agree with the Secretary more.

I questioned whether the Secretary has spoken with any other Cabinet members or political appointees about implementing the 25th Amendment, which provides the procedures for replacing the President if he were unfit for office.

Raised Concerns Over DOJ Official Quietly Resigning After Receiving Million-Dollar Checks from Private Academic Institution
This week I was proud to join my colleagues – U.S. Representatives Scott Fitzgerald (R-WI), John Rutherford (R-FL), and Henry Cuellar (D-TX) - the Milwaukee Police Association President Andrew Wagner, and National Sheriffs Association President William Bohnyak in a bipartisan push for more police funding, resources, and manpower.

Homicide rates across the country are up nearly 50 percent compared to 2020 and shootings of police officers are up 19 percent since last year. Make no mistake the Democrat's “Defund the Police” movement has created the crime crisis we are now experiencing. Our nation's law enforcement officers' morale is at an all-time low, and criminals are capitalizing on America's lack of support for our men and women in blue.

It is time Congress passes my bill, the Public Safety Enhancement Act, and add 100,000 more law enforcement officers to our streets and communities over the next five years. Supporting our law enforcement should not be a partisan issue. It is past time we back the blue.

You can watch the law enforcement press conference HERE.
