John,
We need to be clear about one critical thing:
Voting rights are under attack across this country.
A 2021 report identified the United States as a "backsliding democracy" for the first time. While the report highlighted some positive indicators for our democracy, they found Donald Trump's repeated assaults on the integrity of the 2020 election results (which culminated in the January 6 insurrection) have shaken our democracy to its core.
In the weeks and months since, Republican-held state legislatures across the country have undertaken efforts to attack voting rights and make it harder for Americans to participate in our elections.
Here in Oregon, we proudly believe in making voting easy and accessible. With our landmark vote-by-mail system with prepaid return postage, Oregon voters don't have to worry about taking the time off work to wait for hours in line at a polling location.
Voters don't have to try to figure out when the early voting window opens and closes before election day.
Voters don't experience a complicated process to request an absentee ballot.
That's the way it should be.
If you agree that we should make vote-by-mail the national standard, sign my petition today and urge Congress to pass the Vote at Home Act.

National vote-by-mail is an idea whose time has come. In 2020, 30 states modified their voting laws for the general election to make it easier for voters to cast absentee ballots from home during the pandemic. And guess what? They found out what we've known in Oregon for years: voters like this system, and more people end up participating when you remove barriers to voting.
Let's make sure that every mailbox across this country is a polling place.
Sign the petition if you agree that Oregon's vote-by-mail system should be adopted across the country.
