Friends,

I want to take the time today to write this personal message and thank everyone who reached out following last night’s attack in Fairport.

In case you missed it, an individual approached me on stage during last night’s rally and tried to stab me.

He yelled, “You’re done,” before holding his weapon up towards my neck… But fortunately, I was able to grab his wrist just before several attendees - including my running mate, Alison Esposito - quickly jumped into action and tackled the guy. Law enforcement was on the scene within minutes, and I’m grateful for their quick action in the line of duty.

I’m ok, Alison as well as all other attendees are safe, and the attacker was placed into custody- though unfortunately, he was released right back onto the street immediately thanks to, you guessed it, New York’s cashless bail law…

I’m mindful that I am only one of the many New Yorkers whose life has been affected by the out-of-control crime and violence here in this state. 

So rest assured, this attack will NOT stop our fight to Save New York! 

My attacker’s words may have been, “You’re done” - but this campaign to Save Our State is JUST GETTING STARTED!
