After the ultra-conservative United States Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, we all immediately asked ourselves: What could be next?

U.S. House Democrats heeded a warning that Republicans could target contraception next, took swift action, and passed the Right to Contraception Act to protect the right to buy and use contraceptives without government restriction.

Every single Michigan House Republican running for re-election voted against the right to contraception. Yesterday's vote is a clear warning of their vision for a dystopian future where Michiganders won’t be able to access contraceptives.

For years, House Democrats have been the leading force behind passing legislation to move our nation forward while House Republicans have stood by.

But election forecast experts predict that Republicans are favored to take control of the U.S. House.

Some of the country’s most competitive House districts are in Michigan, and our hope for holding the House runs straight through our state. 

In 2018, we came together and put in the hard work that led Democrats to victory and a U.S. House majority. 

It’s time to repeat that same success in 2022 so House Democrats can continue leading our nation. I know that when we come together as Michigan Democrats, we win together!
