John,

This week, I had the honor of delivering Officer Dan Golden a birthday card from the Orland Park Community. At age 32, he was left paralyzed after being shot by three men outside a bar.

This was terrible news for the people of Cook County. They are less safe today, as an attack on any officer has a chilling effect on ranks of a department already struggling to fill police vacancies. The three individuals who perpetrated this attack need to face very swift and exacting justice.

The Village of Orland immediately went to work with local authorities to provide whatever support we could to help in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

I want to thank both the Chicago Police Department and the Cook County Sheriff’s Office for their response and continued efforts during this tragedy. The men and women of the Chicago Police Department and all of our Cook County officers selflessly run into harm’s way to protect the lives of others - on and off duty. Betty and I continue to pray for Officer Dan Golden and his family.

Cook County has voted overwhelmingly for far-left prosecutors and judges who put the safety of our communities at risk. We must push back in November, or this is only going to get worse.

Support Our Police.

Thank you,

Keith Pekau
Mayor of Orland Park
Republican Nominee for Illinois’ Sixth Congressional District

In Case You Missed It

Pekau Added to NRCC Young Guns List: ([link removed]) The Young Guns program is divided into multiple levels containing benchmarks that a candidate must achieve to advance in the program. Candidates who achieve full Young Guns status have successfully collaborated with the NRCC and completed the requirements that establish a path to victory on Election Day. In 2020, 25 Young Guns were elected to Congress. Since its inception, the Young Guns program has helped elect over 150 members of Congress.

Calumet City Man Arrested for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle Attempts to Escape Police by Fleeing Through Orland Square Mall: ([link removed]) "I want to thank the Orland Police Department for their solid work. They undoubtedly prevented another crime - maybe more - from being committed. This was good police work. This is what happens when lawmakers work with police departments to ensure they have proper training and the resources they need to protect and serve.

It’s why the Village of Orland Park fell to the lowest number of index crimes in 27 years, with an overall 9.2% decrease from 2020 - even as crime rose throughout Chicagoland. It is why in Orland Park violent crime also fell by 24%, with no homicide or rape incidents.

As the Mayor of Orland Park, I have seen what works.

As a resident of Cook County, I have seen what doesn’t work.

And right now, across the country Democrats want to do what doesn’t work: demoralize, dismantle and defund our police.

I am going to Congress to push back against the extremism that has seized the Democrat party, to restore safety to our streets, and to Defend Our Police."

IL-06 Race Named “One to Watch”: ([link removed]) “Proud to be highlighted as the #2 "Race to Watch This Fall" by the Southern Illinoisan. IL-06 voters are engaged and ready for something different. It's time to put people over politics. The days of prioritizing special interests ahead of what's best for the 6th district must come to an end.”

Keith Pekau on Real America with Dan Ball: ([link removed]) Keith recently joined Real America with Dan Ball on One American News Network to talk about rising crime rates in Chicago and cities across the nation. Democrats want to dismantle and defund law enforcement. Keith is going to Congress to push back on the extremism that has gripped the Democrats and support our police, ensuring that they have the training and resources that they need to keep our communities safe. Letter to the Editor: Beverly Review: Pekau Worthy Candidate in Race for Sixth District: ([link removed]) “Keith Pekau is running against Sean Casten to represent the Sixth Congressional District, which includes Beverly. I know and have worked with Pekau in his role as mayor of Orland Park. He best represents the interests and values of Beverly.” Read the full letter here. ([link removed])

Connecting the Dots

9.1%. End quote. Repeat the line.

This week, US inflation roared again to a fresh four-decade high last month, likely strengthening the Federal Reserve’s resolve to aggressively raise interest rates that risks upending the economic expansion.

The consumer price index rose 9.1% from a year earlier in a broad-based advance, the largest gain since the end of 1981, Labor Department data showed Wednesday. The widely followed inflation gauge increased 1.3% from a month earlier, the most since 2005, reflecting higher gasoline, shelter, and food costs.

Pekau: "Major media outlets across the country are reporting that “the consumer price index, a broad measure of everyday goods and services, soared 9.1% from a year ago, above the 8.8% Dow Jones estimate."

And Sean Casten's only solution is to spend more money. In fact, he's so out of touch that he called inflation"a good thing." ([link removed]) End quote. Repeat the line.

I am going to Washington to bring competence and common sense back to our government."

-NRCC: Chicago Residents Paying More Thanks to Democrats

Axios reports ([link removed]) the Consumer Price Index for Chicago-Naperville-Elgin metro area saw a sharp local rise from 2021 to 2022:

The author writes, ([link removed]) “Everything from gas prices to utilities to restaurants has skyrocketed. I estimate I’m paying at least $150 more a month combined.”

Pekau: “Everything costs more thanks to Sean Casten’s reckless spending. And he isn't slowing down. How much more does he think Illinois families and businesses can take?”

Get Involved

Politicians in Washington, DC, like Sean Casten, and Nancy Pelosi have put special interests, party politics, and extreme agendas ahead of doing what’s best for the people they’re supposed to represent.

Keith Pekau is the common sense, local leader we need in Washington to take on the extreme politicians. His record of results stands in stark contrast to the failed, divisive politics, and rigid ideology of Sean Casten.
