I’ll make this quick – we are less than 4 months away from the midterm elections.
This is a time for action. I know that you know we all must do the work in defense of both our democracy and our rights.
That’s why earlier this week I joined with reproductive rights activists and 16 of my House colleagues to take part in an act of civil disobedience.
After all, following the teachings of both Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and St. Augustine, I’m reminded that an unjust ruling – like an unjust law – is no ruling, no law at all.
I feel an urgency for my daughters-in-law, my granddaughters, and for women and girls nationwide. We will not go back. I’ll do all that I can, and I’ll fight as hard as I can, to ensure that women and girls are not relegated to second class citizenship.
I’m ready to do my part in this fight. Friend, will you join me? Instantly add your name to let me know you’re not standing idly by in the face of injustice.
Thank you for all your support.
Sincerely,
Madeleine
