Hi John — we've had an incredible week! Joe hit the campaign trail hard in Iowa and New Hampshire and it shows! He met hundreds of voters all over the Hawkeye and Granite states who feel the same way we do, and they're ready to stand with us to protect the fabric of our nation. But he also made waves in the media — publishing an amazing op-ed in the Wall Street Journal and appearing on local and national media getting our message out. HERE ARE some of the highlightsJoe Walsh Op-Ed for The Wall Street

The Republican Party apparatus has been bound to one man through power plays and intimidation... ...it effectively no longer exists. It’s been stolen from its longtime supporters, donors, volunteers, voters, members and elected representatives. The Party has been overrun and forced to abandon its principles of limited government, free trade and a strong national defense. For many Republican voters their only options are no options except for the one the party bosses have chosen... ...apparently even Republicans voters can’t be trusted enough to choose a presidential candidate... ...it shouldn’t have to be said, but I’ll say it anyway: This shouldn’t happen in America. |
This is just a sample of the things Joe is brave enough to say (and write) — and it's why we've all chosen to stand up and be a part of this movement.

This week on CloseUP, presidential candidates on both sides of the aisle – Republican Joe Walsh and Democrat Michael Bennet – join the show to give us updates about how their campaigns are going.

“The Republican Party right now is just broken because they’ve become a cult. So I want to try to see what I can do to help fix the Republican Party.” “If Trump loses in November, he ain’t going away. I mean, he’s a jackass. He’s not going to go away, he’s going to start his own TV thing, he’s going to screw the Republican Party, he’s going to try to take all of his voters with him.” |

Walsh said he plans to appeal to Iowans as the ideal alternative to Trump, particularly since he believes there is "soft support," for him in the state. Walsh said Trump has failed Iowa farmers when his administration granted waivers to oil refiners, allowing them to bypass requirements to blend ethanol into their fuels. Trump has also hurt farmers through his trade war with China, which has impacted the amount of American farm goods China is buying, including soybean and corn from Iowa, he said. "Donald Trump has screwed Iowa," Walsh said. "I mean, big time." |
