We already knew this race would be important for securing free and fair elections in 2024 – and reigning in the dangerous, extreme policies coming out of the GOP-led Legislature.

But with the fall of Roe v. Wade, this race is even more important.

Republican state Legislators have passed a number of bills trying to limit abortion access in Pennsylvania. Thanks to our current Democratic Governor’s veto pen, those efforts have been thwarted.

We know for a fact that the next Governor will face the same choice: Signing or vetoing legislation restricting reproductive rights. Doug Mastriano would sign that bill – he said it’s his “#1 issue” to ban all abortions with no exceptions. Josh Shapiro would veto that bill and any other that takes away a woman’s right to choose.
