Friend,
I'm happy to report that the Senate held a hearing on my DISCLOSE Act this week. My bill would get dark money out of our politics by requiring donors who spend big in elections or judicial confirmations to identify themselves.
In the 12 years since Citizens United, dark money has exploded. Our democracy is getting crushed under a tsunami of slime.
Since 2006, dark money spending has gone from less than $5 million to more than $1 billion. Far-right special interests have spent more than $580 million on their judicial capture project alone.
Tens of millions of dollars in anonymous money propped up the SCOTUS nominations of Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch, and Amy Coney Barrett.
Who wrote those checks?
Do they have business before the Court?
Why else would they put up that kind of money in secret?
Once on the Court, the radical justices junked precedent and began issuing ruling after ruling in favor of hyper-conservative donor interests. My DISCLOSE Act will shine a light on who's funding this operation. The American people need to know who is pulling the strings in their government.
I'm fighting every day to expose the corrupt special interests corroding our democracy and capturing our courts, but my work depends on support from grassroots donors like you. I'm up against the wealthiest, most powerful special interests out there, and I don't take a dime from corporate PACs. That's why I'm reaching out today – if you can, will you make a donation of $5 or more to my campaign now to join the fight against special interests and help get dark money out of our politics?

Thanks so much, friend. I couldn't do this without your support.
