[1]Alex Padilla for Senate

This week, Alex joined Senators Jeff Merkley, Bernie Sanders, and 5 other Senate colleagues in calling on President Biden to declare a national climate emergency.

The climate crisis is a threat unlike anything we’ve ever faced — it demands ambitious and urgent action.

We cannot wait for Republicans to accept this reality and act rationally — which is why Alex is calling on President Biden to declare a national emergency and take action to save our planet before it’s too late.

Can you please stand with Alex and call on President Biden to declare a national climate emergency?

The truth is, every day we wait to act is another day we continue to live with the devastating consequences of climate change. More frequent and severe storms, deadly heat waves, rampaging wildfires here in California... this is all happening right now, not in some far-off future. And it will only get worse unless we act.

Here is the truth: In order to protect our people from natural disasters and keep our air and water clean, we need President Biden to declare a national climate emergency — there is simply no other option right now.

So please, add your name to our letter calling on President Biden to declare a national climate emergency. We’re counting on a LOT of people signing up to demonstrate how important this is, so it would mean a lot if you’d sign on.

Thank you so much for standing with Alex on this. Climate change is one of the biggest issues facing California, the country, and the planet, and it means a lot to have you on our team as we work together to save our planet.
