Coach Jim Harbaugh Still Making the Big Calls, This Time for Preborn Life

By: Bruce Hausknecht

“I believe in having the courage to let the unborn be born,” Jim Harbaugh, coach of the University of Michigan football team, told an audience on July 17 during the Plymouth Right to Life Dinner in Plymouth, Michigan.

Coaches are used to being bold. And blunt. Look at Tony Dungy. Harbaugh, father of seven, is cut from the same mold. Fittingly, the pro-life dinner he spoke at was themed, “We Were Made to be Courageous.”

Harbaugh cited the Bible as well as science for why he believes in protecting the preborn.

Outrage Ensues After UPenn Nominates Male Swimmer as NCAA ‘Woman of the Year’

By: Jeff Johnston

The University of Pennsylvania nominated swimmer Lia Thomas for the 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year award. He was one of 577 graduating student-athletes nominated for the prize.

The announcement that a male-bodied athlete was in the running for the prize brought outrage from many.

Thomas, who swam on the men’s swimming and diving team from 2017 to 2020, “transitioned” to living as a woman and won the 500-yard freestyle 2022 NCAA women’s championship.

The NCAA stated:

“Each year, NCAA member schools are encouraged to celebrate their top graduating female student-athletes by nominating them for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award. Up to two female student-athletes can be recognized from each school if at least one of them is an international student-athlete or student-athlete of color.”

Jennifer Braceras, director of the independent Women’s Law Center, tweeted that UPenn had deprived a female athlete of the honor.

Tennis legend Marina Navratilova, who has criticized allowing men into women’s sports, slammed the NCAA, asking, “What is wrong with you?”

Why Don’t You Want to Provide Pregnant Women with True Choices, Senator Warren?

By: Paul Batura

When it comes to the issue of abortion, it turns out Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) isn’t really “pro-choice” after all.

“We need to shut [pregnancy resource centers] down here in Massachusetts, and we need to shut them down all around the country,” she said. “You should not be able to torture a pregnant person like that.”

By “torture,” Senator Warren is referring to the act of abortion-minded women calling on pregnancy resource centers – only to be told about life-affirming alternatives to killing their babies.

Sorry, Senator Warren, but the only person being “tortured” when it comes to abortion is the pre-born baby.

The Massachusetts senator says centers “fool people” – but since when did any woman inadvertently or mistakenly carry her baby to term? Is any woman deceived into a nine-month pregnancy? The mere suggestion is pure lunacy.

It’s not “fooling” – it’s called educating, informing, ministering, and serving.

Why does a self-proclaimed “pro-choice” person harbor so much fear and trepidation about providing women true and legitimate choices? After all, to be truly “pro-choice” is to support options – not hide or deceive women into thinking abortion is their only viable way forward.

New Suicide Prevention Hotline ‘988’ Went Live on July 16

By: Zachary Mettler

Suicide is a heartbreaking and tragic occurrence in our society and is particularly pronounced among youths.

When an otherwise healthy young person takes their own life, their family, friends and community are often devastated, wondering what went so wrong – and what they could have done differently.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), suicide is a leading cause of death in the United States, with 45,979 deaths in 2020 – or one death every 11 minutes.

The CDC estimates that in 2020, 12.2 million American adults seriously considered suicide, while 1.2 million attempted it.

The agency also notes that it was the second leading cause of death for people ages 10-14 and 25-34.

As a part of the effort to prevent suicide, starting July 16, a new suicide hotline number will go live nationwide.

Most children are taught from an early age what number to call in an emergency: 911.

Now, for individuals in desperate emotional or mental distress, there is a new number for individuals to call: 988.

Jordan Peterson Gives Important Advice to Christian Churches. Should We Take It?

By: Daily Citizen Staff

Jordan Peterson is a man clearly in process. We are all in process, but not clearly so. This fact is unmistakably clear for Dr. Peterson. It will certainly be interesting to see where God leads this man.

Even though Peterson has publicly denied his atheism and philosophical materialism, he has not declared kinship with any traditional faith, be it Christian or otherwise. But he has certainly shown an inordinate interest in some of the deepest things Christian and that is certainly worth watching. Professor Peterson has done this very recently with a new video message he intentionally recorded giving advice to the Christian church.

Peterson is one of the rare individuals who sits outside the church, but has remarkably deep regard for what goes on inside its walls. That concern and esteem is what he is communicating in this video.

Anyone who knows anything about his work, knows he has a deep passion for the males of the human species and the unique struggles they are presently facing from many factions in society. Today’s male faces great pressure to become anything other than what he is. And that is male. The male, with his unique energy, boldness, strength, and his motivating desire to fight good fights, break what needs breaking, and put right what needs putting right, is a pariah to liberal sensibilities. Today’s male is told he is inherently toxic and largely unwelcome.

But Dr. Peterson knows where the male belongs.
