Last month, the Supreme Court ruled that the Biden administration acted within
its authority to end the Trump-era “Remain in Mexico” policy. This victory is a testament to our movement, and we are using this momentum to
ensure the Biden administration ends “Remain in Mexico” swiftly and humanely.

For nearly three years, the “Remain in Mexico” policy has exposed tens of
thousands of people to grave danger while violating their fundamental right to
seek asylum in the United States. Failed deterrence policies like “Remain in
Mexico” and Title 42 are dangerous and even deadly. Just a few weeks ago, 53
migrants died inside an abandoned truck in San Antonio, Texas — an unspeakable
tragedy that is an inevitable result of increased militarization at our southern
border.

This tragedy at the border, and too many others like it, has made it painfully
clear – the time to act is now.

We sent a letter to the administration detailing what steps it must take to end
“Remain in Mexico.” Now, we need your help to elevate our message. Please join
advocates calling on President Biden and DHS Secretary Mayorkas to terminate
this deadly policy once and for all >>>

[[link removed]]We may never know the true human cost of “Remain in Mexico,” given the severe
barriers the policy created for people seeking refuge in the U.S. However, we
are dedicated to preventing further harm by urging the Biden administration to
immediately uphold its commitment to ending this inhumane policy. Here’s what we’re calling for:

* End the return of any individuals to Mexico under the “Remain in Mexico”
policy;
* Request that the Supreme Court transmit the certified judgment of the
decision to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit;
* Coordinate with organizations on the ground to allow people subjected to the
policy the opportunity to meaningfully pursue their asylum claims from the
U.S.;
* Provide individuals previously returned to Mexico under the policy — who are
currently located in the U.S.— the opportunity to apply for asylum;
* Facilitate the transportation of individuals placed into “Remain in Mexico”
who remain in Mexico and other countries in the region to the U.S. to pursue
their immigration proceedings; and
* Dismantle Trump-era tent “courts” in Brownsville and Laredo, Texas

The denial of asylum seekers’ fundamental right to seek safety in the U.S. has
cost too many lives. We cannot delay justice any longer — this policy must
swiftly come to an end. Join advocates calling on the Biden administration to permanently terminate
“Remain in Mexico.” Sign our petition >>>
