This is former Congressman Rick Nolan reaching out on behalf of my friend Jen Schultz. Jen is running for Congress in my old district – and I couldn’t be more excited for her campaign. She has my full support and confidence, which is why I’m doing everything I can to help Jen win this election and asking you to do the same.

I have been so proud to represent northern Minnesota in Congress and I know what it takes to win. You have to listen to folks, be willing to work with anyone, and focus on the kitchen table issues that our neighbors care about. 

Most of all, you have to be honest, hardworking, and fair. Jen Schultz has had remarkable success at winning elections and proven experience at getting things done for the people she represents. Minnesota’s 8th District and our nation desperately need more people like Jen Schultz in Congress – and I know she has what it takes to win.

This district used to be a Democratic stronghold. It was held by a Democrat for 70 of the last 76 years. When I retired from Congress a few years ago, we thought we could keep it blue. 

But we took some things for granted and ended up with now-Congressman Pete Stauber. Stauber doesn’t represent our community with honor and dignity. He comes home and tells his constituents one thing, then turns his back on us and votes in lock-step with Kevin McCarthy and radical Republicans in Washington. 

It’s shameful.

But now is our opportunity to take this seat back from the GOP – and Jen Schultz has what it takes. 

Momentum is growing for her campaign every day. McCarthy, the NRCC, and the GOP think they have this seat secured. I know we can catch them off guard and win – but only if we have your support! So please, make a grassroots donation to Jen’s campaign today!
