Here’s the thing: I have seven grandchildren who are girls and young women. The Supreme Court’s dangerous decision to overturn Roe stripped them of their fundamental rights as equal citizens.

I think that’s bullshit.

Since the Supreme Court thinks my grandkids shouldn't have the freedom to decide what happens to their bodies, I'm taking action. In June, Attorney General Josh Kaul and I filed a lawsuit against Wisconsin’s archaic 1849 law that would ban nearly all abortions, even in cases of rape and incest.

And I’m not the only Democratic governor fighting back.

In Michigan, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer filed a lawsuit and used her executive authority to urge the Michigan Supreme Court to ensure Michigan’s arcane 1931 ban never goes back into effect. And in New Mexico, Nevada, and Illinois, they’ve signed legislation guaranteeing the right to an abortion in their states.

We’ve made progress to protect our states from these shameful Republican attacks, but this fight isn’t over.

We can win in Wisconsin and battleground states across the country, but only if we take action TODAY.
