Dear Free Software
Supporter,

Twice every year, the FSF sets aside time and resources to reach out
and bring updates from each team. This spring, we did just that. We
also set ourselves a fundraising goal of $67,000, which we later
decided to [stretch to $70,000][1]. Now, we are proud to announce that
we reached our stretch goal, and even a bit beyond. We raised a total
of $86,000, all thanks to community support. It is worth noting that
we received donations in [various forms][2] -- even a vehicle
donation! (Yes, you can do that, and, yes, it helps.) Now that the
spring appeal is officially over, we want to take a moment to
highlight a few things we did during this time.

This spring's biannual appeal has been quite exciting. It has also
been quite productive. During this time, we published the [spring 2022
*FSF Bulletin*][3], hosted a new [interactive outreach initiative via
ActivityPub][4], published new articles [from the tech][5] and
[licensing teams][6], offered a [stylish new shirt][7], and debuted [a
new video][8] aimed at introducing people to free software.

Free software advocacy is a worldwide endeavor, and therefore the
publications we make must be made available in as many languages as
possible. The video we released, *Escape to Freedom*, was announced
just two weeks ago and -- thanks to our *awesome* translator
volunteers -- has already been translated into Spanish, English,
Chinese, and French. As of this writing, subtitles are available in
all four of these languages.

*Note: If you are interested in contributing translations for the FSF,
you are highly encouraged to join the [fsf-translators][9] mailing
list to communicate and coordinate your work with others.*

From creating important educational materials, to working towards
freer computing, your funding makes a difference. From organizing and
running events such as [LibrePlanet talks][10] and [workshops][11], to
keeping the various Web sites live with fresh publications, every
dollar we receive during appeals such as this one help us do more.

We look forward to continuing our work with the community toward
achieving software freedom for everyone.

In freedom,

Devin Ulibarri
Outreach & Communications Coordinator
