Team,
It’s been barely three weeks since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and already, we’re seeing terrifying and devastating stories play out across the country.
In Indiana, Republican AG Todd Rotika announced that he was “investigating” a doctor after a minor was forced to cross state lines to obtain abortion care.
Meanwhile, in Texas, the Republican attorney general sued the Biden administration over new guidance reminding hospitals that they are required to provide abortion care in emergency circumstances to protect the life of a pregnant person.
If you agree that all reproductive care, including abortion, must be protected, add your name right now.
Even routine care completely unrelated to reproductive rights is being affected. Across the country, people are being denied prescription refills because they *might be able to become pregnant*.
That’s beyond outrageous, and it’s going to have severe and wide-ranging effects on people’s health – and it’s another instance where politicians are putting themselves between doctors and patients.
I’m committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure that reproductive care, including abortion, remains legal and accessible in California, and to protecting the rights of all to access such care. If you’re with me, add your name.
Thank you,
Rob Bonta
