Hi John! If we haven’t met before, I’m Errol, Cori’s dad.
I’m writing to you about a special birthday surprise we’re putting together for Cori. 🎉
Today is my daughter’s 46th birthday, so we’re racing to raise $4,600 by the end of today to show her how much support she has from this people-powered movement.
Especially now that Cori’s competitive primary election is only days away, I know it would mean so much to her to give the campaign a boost so they can reach as many voters as possible in these final moments. Will you chip in $4.60 or anything you can to surprise Cori for her birthday?
To see what Cori is doing now to transform our politics and deliver real change to St. Louis makes my heart feel so full.
You see, Cori always swore up and down that politics wasn’t for someone like her. As a child, she watched me work long hours and endure political attacks as a public servant and asked why anyone would ever sign up for that. She saw the hatred and the nastiness that could come out in politics.
But she also saw the impact you can truly have on the lives of people. Ever since she was a little girl, Cori has made it her life’s mission to help others because she knows that, whether you’re a politician or not, it is our duty to help people.
Following the murder of Michael Brown Jr. in 2014, Cori took to the streets working to save Black lives.
I remember watching the television and yelling, “There’s Cori!” My baby girl was following her calling by attending to our community, putting her love and compassion to work as a nurse and a pastor in the streets of Ferguson, just minutes from her childhood home. For her, this movement has never been about just one person, and it’s certainly not about her; it’s about saving Black lives and lifting up all of our communities.
I’m so proud of Cori and everything she’s accomplished in her first term in Congress. She’s already recognized as a key leader for our progressive movement, and I know that there’s so much more she’s ready to tackle.
Thank you for all of your support.
