[3X Match] The solution to malnutrition is so simple: food.

Andrew Zimmern
Hi John,

You may know me from my books and television programs, but let me formally introduce myself to you:

I'm Andrew Zimmern. I am a chef, writer, world traveler and social justice advocate. Today, I'm writing to you as an IRC Ambassador.

I recently learned some shocking news: More than 50 million children around the world are suffering from acute malnutrition. This number accounts for nearly half of all deaths for children under the age of 5.

That's why I'm personally coming to you, John: Would you consider making an urgent, one time donation to help children and families facing malnutrition in crisis zones around the world? Every gift you make through this personalized link will be TRIPLED, making your impact go 3X as far: https://go.rescue.org/e/937243/donate-child-survival-2022/4bhqk/158875765?h=XpbZkrnXcxRwh7sIwUeWmOaKVJHrttKcZI4JttV-6pA

Digesting this devastating statistic not only broke my heart as a food professional, but it gutted me as a father. Especially after I heard Essam's story, a 25-year-old father from Yemen.

After experiencing war and the resulting rise in food prices, Essam felt like he woke up every day to a new price tag on food.

“Sometimes I swear we stay without food because of the prices, which are increasing on a daily basis. One day we have food to eat, and one day we have to sleep on an empty stomach,” Essam told the IRC team in Yemen.

Then came the devastating news that his 10-month-old daughter was showing signs of malnutrition.

I can't imagine what it must have felt like to learn that my own child was dangerously malnourished. What's especially hard is knowing the solution to malnutrition is so simple: food. It's just that children around the world don't have access to enough of it.

That's what I love about the IRC. They go above and beyond to reach children with the emergency food and medical care they need to grow stronger and healthier.

And I personally know these teams need all the support they can get, right now, as they reach children in crisis-affected countries like Yemen, Afghanistan, Ukraine and many more.

Would you consider giving a special gift today that can have 3x the impact? You can use this link the fundraising team at IRC asked me to share with you to make a 3x matched donation: https://go.rescue.org/e/937243/donate-child-survival-2022/4bhqk/158875765?h=XpbZkrnXcxRwh7sIwUeWmOaKVJHrttKcZI4JttV-6pA

Every dollar that you give will be TRIPLE matched by a generous anonymous donor.

I believe every child should have access to good, nutritious food. Including these 50 million children around the world who need it now more than ever.

Together, I think we can help these children get the nutritious food they need to laugh, play, learn and dream again.

Thank you for supporting the IRC,

Chef Andrew Zimmern
IRC Ambassador

P.S. John, more than 50 million children around the world today suffer from acute malnutrition. But the solution is incredibly simple: nutritious food. Will you give a special gift today that can have 3x the impact in helping us fight hunger worldwide?
