I need to tell you something you're not going to like, John.
When people see headlines in local newspapers covering wildfires or extreme heat, most of them see absolutely no connection between climate disasters and the fossil fuel industry. Yes, that's right.
The reality is that in 2022, there are still many, many people out there who simply refuse to see that longer, hotter, and deadlier summers are directly caused by the disastrous projects from the fossil fuel industry.
That is why we need to bring our fight to the headlines of local newspapers around the country. Because a big part of winning the fight against the fossil fuel industry is about winning the media fight — and the hearts and minds of people and politicians.
So we’re asking active members of the 350 community to do something very important today and I'm counting on you to help if you can:

The media needs to make one thing about extreme weather very clear: the fossil fuel industry is to blame.
And saying it once isn't enough, John. We are calling on the media to report on the culprits of this devastation until they are held responsible by the broader public and the politicians they bankroll.
It is more important now than ever before that the media, the public, and our politicians hold the fossil fuel industry accountable for causing this devastation. Please take action with us today:
Thank you for helping us build the pressure we need to defeat the fossil fuel industry.
