This is infuriating, John.

After the Supreme Court ruling against Roe v. Wade, marriage equality has been on shaky legal footing. Thankfully, Democrats in the House passed legislation codifying the right to same-sex marriage.

This week's bill passed with sweeping, bipartisan support. Forty-seven Republicans voted to protect LGBTQ rights, but not my opponent Michelle Steel. She voted against it and solidified her standing as one of the most right-wing Members of the US House.

For those who know Michelle, this is disappointing but not shocking. She has a long history of outright bigotry and homophobia -- and I don't throw those words around lightly, John.

She voted down the Equality Act, which would have prohibited discrimination against the LGBTQ community. And beyond her voting record, she was recently caught on video bragging about pulling her daughter out of college for asking, “what’s wrong with gay marriage?"

This sort of close-mindedness has no place in our community. In Congress, I will stand on the side of freedom and constitutional rights for all -- not just for those who look like me or share my beliefs.

If you're with me, chip in $3 to help flip this seat from red to blue and get Michelle Steel’s extremism out of Congress.
