** THAI WORKERS WIN HISTORIC $8.3 MILLION IN BACK PAY, FINANCED BY VICTORIA'S SECRET

With the Solidarity Center’s support and advocacy, more than 1,250 Thailand garment workers fired last year without their legally mandated severance won ([link removed]) a historic settlement ([link removed]) .

** POLISH FEDERATION SAFEGUARDS UKRAINIAN MIGRANT WORKER RIGHTS

Poland’s largest union federation, with Solidarity Center support, is providing comprehensive assistance ([link removed]) to Ukrainian refugees to ensure they have fundamental rights on the job as they take on new employment in the country.

** DISCRIMINATION, LACK OF OVERSIGHT, INEQUALITY DRIVE PERSISTENCE OF TRAFFICKING IN AGRICULTURE

A new UN Special Rapporteur report ([link removed]) supported the Solidarity Center’s conclusion in its submission ([link removed]) : “Trade unions are important to combat forced labor and other forms of labor trafficking and exploitation, and to raise workers’ awareness about their rights and the available services and access to justice channels."

Collective bargaining changes work and workers’ lives for the better, allowing for real progress in both labor and human rights, according to a new report ([link removed]) . Honduran workers with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) are less likely to feel compelled to migrate or to face verbal abuse, and they earn more than workers without CBAs.
