2022 Palestinian textbooks published by UNRWA contain incitement to violence against Israel and hatred of Jews
Dear Friend of Israel,
Textbooks produced by the UN’s Palestinian refugee agency contain incitement to violence against Israel and hatred of Jews.
Despite promises to remove such content, a new report found that 2022 curriculum for Palestinian schools published by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) included:
♦ Grammar exercises where students write sentences about "Jihad warriors" and commitment to "liberate Palestine"
♦ A poem that teaches students that to die as a martyr by killing Israelis is a "hobby"
♦ Geography lessons where Israel is labeled as "modern-day Palestine" and students are given exercises of naming Israeli cities as Palestinian
We must continue to work with America's leaders to stand against violent incitement that makes peace between Israelis and Palestinians harder to achieve.
America should work with the EU and other allies to urge stricter monitoring of the content in textbooks and to demand that curriculum for Palestinian schools stop indoctrinating its children to hate and kill Israelis and Jews.
Congress should also work with Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who has previously said the State Department would be "looking very, very carefully" at these kinds of dangerous and hateful messages in UNRWA schools and textbooks.
