We’ve emailed you over the last few weeks to share examples of ADL’s impact ahead of our crucial mid-year giving deadline. I know that with each new violent attack, hate crime or act of bigotry that you encounter or that you hear about from us, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed — to wonder how we can ever rid our world of this hate so we can all feel safe.

Each day at ADL, we confront an average of seven hate-filled incidents. So every day I roll up my sleeves, then I work with the amazing ADL team determined to make a difference on behalf of you and the rest of our ADL community.

This is why I wanted to reach out to you today.

Because, when confronted with hate and antisemitism, I want you to feel hope as I do. And I need you to know that, together, we are making a difference.

Each of the stories we’ve sent you is proof that with your help, we can fight hate and we can win. It’s this feeling of hope and the knowledge that ADL’s methods work that has inspired a fellow supporter to offer to match all gifts during our mid-year campaign, up to $200,000 so that right now you have an opportunity to double your impact.

Throughout the year, the ADL Center on Extremism monitors extremists on online platforms — reading their hate-filled vitriol and stopping them from causing real-world harm. Our experts testify on Capitol Hill, working to drive policy changes. Our regional offices respond to incidents of hate in communities like yours. And so, so much more.

Fighting antisemitism and hate isn’t easy. It takes an emotional toll on us all. We are making a difference to better our world, though.This strengthens our resolve to keep fighting those on the fringes who would love to see ADL go away forever.

But because of you, John, they’ll never get their wish.
