A MAJOR WIN FOR VOTING RIGHTS:

AP News Reports:

“A federal judge has blocked North Carolina laws that greatly restrict who can help people with disabilities request absentee ballots, fill them out and return them … [U.S. District Judge Terrence Boyle] declared that such restraints in state law conflict with the federal Voting Rights Act.”

John, this is a major win, not just for North Carolina, but for voting rights everywhere.

Republicans are doing everything they can to restrict the right to vote from all angles — including heavily restricting voting access for disabled voters.

But their actions are unconstitutional, and we’re glad to see this case go the right way.

But this won’t be the last of Republicans’ attacks on voting rights. They’re going to continue to do anything and everything they can think of to restrict voting rights — because when we all vote, they lose.

We’ve had enough of these anti-democracy leaders, and we’re going to do everything we can to defend voting rights, protect ballot access, and ensure fair and free elections. That's why we're funding voter protection staff in key battleground states -- to fight for voters and ensure they can make their voices heard.
