A strange smell wafted across the garage as well water began to flow through the hose in Bill Yoders’ garage. The smell wasn’t quite sulfur, and it didn’t smell like gas. But it sure wasn’t plain water either.
“That smell was never there before,” he said, adding that the water’s yellow tint was new, too.
For a month, the Yoders family and other households in the Greene County hamlet of New Freeport have been living with deep concerns about their water supply. Residents are pining for answers.
