John —
Earlier today, the courts finalized Brian Kemp’s extreme and dangerous abortion ban. Now in Georgia, abortion care is a crime after six weeks of pregnancy, before many women even know they’re pregnant.
Brian Kemp achieved his goal: to endanger women, strip away our right to choose and deny our ability to make medical decisions.
Under Kemp, Georgia is at or near the bottom on nearly every health care measure — from doctor and nursing shortages, to maternal and infant deaths, to the shuttering of three hospitals during the pandemic. This new law will only make it worse.
While Brian Kemp’s six-week abortion ban has taken over three years to take effect, the impact is clear: women are now second-class citizens in Kemp’s Georgia.
That’s why right now, I am asking you to make a donation to a group of organizations protecting critical reproductive rights and reproductive choice work in Georgia and across the region. In the aftermath of Kemp’s six-week abortion ban, we need to support the people providing the care and doing the work right now.
John, in the days ahead, remember that we are in this fight together. Believe in our ability to overcome. And know that together, if we unite, good will be won.
Sincerely,
Stacey
