“Minnesota Republican Matt Birk warns abortion leads to women having careers, claims pro-choice advocates are always playing ‘the rape card.’”
– Vanity Fair, 7/19/22

John,

Matt Birk, the Republican-endorsed candidate for Lt. Governor of Minnesota, is under fire once again for disturbing remarks he made disparaging women and victims of sexual assault.

Speaking at an anti-abortion convention hours after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Birk claimed those who are pro-choice unfairly use “the rape card” to justify their views and said our culture “promotes abortion” by telling women “they should have careers.”

Birk’s comments are shocking and disturbing, but the Jensen-Birk ticket’s commitment to passing a Texas-style abortion ban in Minnesota if they’re elected is even worse.

John, Jensen and Birk are as dangerous as they come. And with polling showing our race in a statistical dead heat, we can’t afford to give them an inch of space to define this race.

We launched our first TV ad this week to keep Jensen and Birk from gaining any more ground, but it’s put a huge strain on our budget. To keep it running, we still need to raise $21,521 by tomorrow night. Can you chip in to help us make up the difference?

Thank you,

Team Walz-Flanagan

P.S.: We just launched our first TV ad of the election! Take a minute to check it out and pitch in to help us keep it on the air.
