Dear John,

The first event of OLCV’s summer youth engagement series is rapidly approaching, and we hope you’re as excited for it as we are! [[link removed]]

“Demystifying the Legislative Process 101” is one of three entry-level workshops in our This is How We Win: Climate Organizing 100 Series and will take place a week from today on Wednesday, July 27th from 5:30-6:45 PM on Zoom. Use this link to register for this awesome training opportunity in environmental activism if you haven’t yet, and share it around to anyone you know who might be interested – especially youth who are curious about dipping their toes into climate activism or political organizing! This workshop will focus on untangling the complex process of Oregon’s legislative sessions in a way that makes sense to folks beginning their foray into climate organizing. The training aims to educate youth passionate about our environment on the different levels and moving parts throughout Oregon’s legislature, previous climate victories achieved through the legislative process in Oregon, and how those policies were successfully brought to light. Finally, the course will make attendees aware about the important climate measures and environmental champions on our ballots this November.

If any of this sounds of interest to you, or to other youths and people you may know, we strongly encourage you to sign up for the workshop here! While This is How We Win is focused on bringing more youth into the climate movement, it is open to folks of all ages who want to learn more and further engage in Oregon politics. [[link removed]]

This training is free to attend, and will take place on Zoom– so anybody from across our beautiful state is welcome to join! Starting with “Demystifying the Legislative Process,” each seminar in the Climate Organizing 100 Series will build upon one another, and culminate with an in-person day of field work to get the word out about climate champions and causes at stake in November’s election. Stay tuned for more information on the next two courses: “Winning Elections 101” and “Canvassing 101,” which will take place on the last Wednesday of August and September respectively.

RSVP for one, or all of the events here. We hope to see you there! [[link removed]]
