As we continue to watch votes being tallied across our state, including a huge portion of mail-in ballots starting tomorrow, I wanted to reach out with a heartfelt thank you!

I am so incredibly grateful for your support and tireless hard work throughout this campaign. I especially want to thank my partner in this race, Shannon Sneed, and my amazing family, including my wife Ann Marie and my kids, Amalia, Susana and Raffa for their unwavering support.

We started this campaign over a year ago with a simple vision: to deliver jobs, justice, and opportunity for every Marylander and to build a Maryland where our kids have equal opportunity no matter their zip code. A Maryland where every person who wants a job can find one. A Maryland where workers have a voice and small businesses can thrive. That’s the Maryland that I want for all of our families.

Voters across Maryland share that vision. And because of all of your hard work spreading our message to those voters, this is now a two-person race. And it’s time to keep counting.

We believe that just over half of the votes cast in this election have been counted. The remaining ballots – hundreds of thousands of them – will begin to be counted tomorrow.

I’ve spent my entire career in public service, including fighting to make sure that every voter had access to the ballot box, and I’ll continue to fight until every voice is heard. Because of Larry Hogan’s unconscionable veto, we knew that this would be a long process that would require patience from all of us, and we’re prepared to see this through to the end.

I’m so appreciative of the outpouring of support Shannon and I have received. But this election has never been about us – it’s about all of you. I couldn’t be prouder of the organization we’ve built in just a few short months, or our diverse coalition of amazing organizations like CASA in Action and truly unprecedented support from unions all across our great state. We couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you.

So while we continue to ensure voters across Maryland have their ballots counted, I just want to say thank you for your ongoing support. Onward!
