Hey John, it’s Mayor Q.
I’m running for re-election for mayor because I love Kansas City with my whole heart. I was born and raised here. My wife and I are raising our son here.
I understand the issues facing Kansas Citians because I, too, have lived them. I experienced homelessness in my youth, and at times my single mother struggled to put food on the table for our family, despite working tirelessly.
From implementing fare-free transit and filling potholes to working with our state and federal partners to secure funding for our city, we’ve accomplished so much since I was sworn in as mayor in 2019. But the job isn’t done — there is always more we can do to make Kansas City a better place for everyone, regardless of zip code.
The summertime is often a slow period for political fundraising. I get it — folks are unplugging and going on vacation. But running a winning campaign is expensive, so we need to stay on track if we want to be in good shape for next year.
