Last week, Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia most likely killed the federal climate bill.
There truly aren’t words for how appalled, outraged, and disappointed we are. Well, maybe there are, but we probably shouldn’t put them in email.
We’re pissed off. But we’re not giving up.
While this isn’t the result we were hoping for, we’re proud of all the local and state leaders who listened to their constituents and championed strong climate action – including Sen. Tammy Baldwin and Reps. Ron Kind, Gwen Moore, and Mark Pocan. We applaud their continued commitment to a cleaner, healthier future for all in Wisconsin.
Our work doesn’t stop. We will continue to work with Pres. Biden to make sure he is taking full advantage of his executive power to enact meaningful climate action.
Wisconsin Conservation Voters has been fighting for a cleaner, healthier state for more than 20 years – and we’re not backing down now. This is what we are built for.
We’ve made progress at the state level with Gov. Evers and in local communities around Wisconsin. We’re doubling down to make sure we do everything we can in Wisconsin to meet our climate goals – for all of us and our children’s future.
