Hello hello! We’re Kyle, Kat and Ellie, yesterday you heard from some of our fellow Fellows (ha!) — there are eleven of us participating in the Democracy Summer fellowship and we are excited to say hi to you too!
To lots of people our representatives in Congress probably seem inaccessible, they’re busy lawmakers who have so much to do every day. Though that might be the case for some elected officials, we’ve all found Mary Gay super approachable and caring. She really strives to connect with every person she meets whether or not they agree with her on every single issue.
Even though some of us fellows aren’t even old enough to vote yet, we are still invested in our democracy and what’s going on in Washington because we know that it impacts Americans everywhere. Here’s what we had to say when we were asked what about Mary Gay makes us proud to have her in Congress:

As a part of our fellowship, we hear from different speakers each week who talk about their work in Congress, or Democratic Party leadership and more, it’s so cool! Then on the campaign, we’ve been designing some Scanlon for Congress stickers, we’ll follow up on that next month! We’ve got a lot going on and we’re glad to be able to share our work with you!
