John, I wanted to write you quickly to share that we just passed legislation to protect marriage equality for interracial marriages and same-sex unions.

That’s right! In spite of protests from 157 Republicans trying to decimate our nation’s progress – we won this battle.

But, there’s still a war ahead.

Justice Clarence Thomas made it clear that the ultra-conservative majority on the Supreme Court will try to revisit precedent protecting same-sex marriages and other protected rights.

I am proud to vote to codify reproductive rights, decriminalize travel across state lines to obtain critical health care and now, protect marriage equality – but we are not safe yet.

The action we’ve taken is not enough on its own. The Senate needs to pass these critical reforms into law.

This is where we need your help…

I need you to add your name here to encourage our vulnerable, razor-thin Senate Democratic majority to act – and take unanimous action on these reforms. I’ve committed to getting 1,000 voters to speak up with their support: [link removed]

Now is the time for us to say with one strong, unified voice that we will not allow extremists to decimate our values and roll back our progress. We’ve fought too hard for too long to give up.

Please, take action now. Add your name: [link removed]
