John,

Abortion remains legal and safe in Pennsylvania, but now that the Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade , abortion rights are under attack across the country. We are in a fight to make sure every person has the freedom to access the health care they need and control their own bodies, and the stakes have never been higher.

Abortion is on the ballot this November, but many people need help right away to ensure the power to make medical decisions about their own lives remains an option.

So today, will you join me in supporting abortion funds across the country who are working to ensure people have the resources the make their own decisions about their health care? [[link removed]]

As a physician in Philadelphia teaching hospitals for over 20 years, I’ve cared for patients making incredibly difficult decisions about their pregnancies, and I can tell you firsthand that there is no place in those decisions for a politician in Harrisburg or Washington, D.C.

Today, in states with extreme anti-abortion laws, people are being denied the opportunity to make these deeply personal health care decisions for themselves and, in some places, doctors face threats of prosecution for caring for their patients.

Without the protections of Roe , some states have already made abortion illegal in all cases. And in states where it is still legal, they are working overtime to do all they can to restrict access to abortion care.

Abortion access should not be based on ZIP code, income level, flexibility and resources to travel to another state. Will you chip in to support abortion funds across the nation now? [[link removed]]

But we cannot stop there. We have a critical election coming up this November and it’s never been more important to make your voice heard.

Pennsylvanians have a clear choice to make this November between leaders like Josh Shapiro, who understands that abortion is health care, and extremists like Doug Mastriano, who wants to ban all abortion, even if the pregnancy is a result of rape or incest or the life of the pregnant person is at stake. We all need to vote like our lives depend on it.

So if you haven’t already, you can learn more about how you can vote this November and make a plan to vote by visiting vote.pa.gov [[link removed]] .

Abortion is on the ballot this year. Abortion is health care. Vote like your life, or the life of someone you love depends on your vote. It just might.

Thank you,

Val
