There are over 43.5 million mothers in the U.S. But so few mothers serve in public office–and we're missing out on a valuable perspective.
Mothers are 15 times more likely than men to be responsible for the majority of child care. They're familiar with the rising and unaffordable costs of child care, the costs and accessibility of maternal and pediatric medical care, and the need for paid family and sick leave.
We need more mothers in elected public office. I am proud to be a mother serving our state as Treasurer, and I know it gives me a crucial understanding of the challenges working families in our state face everyday.
Being a mom makes me a better public servant and a better steward of our economy. And I am honored to have Vote Mama's support in my reelection campaign for state Treasurer.
John, will you join Vote Mama in supporting our team with a contribution of any amount today?
It's time we have more mothers in elected office. Join our team today.
Sincerely,
Treasurer Colleen Davis
