Today, friend, we are celebrating the anniversary of the first payment of the Canada Child Benefit (CCB), which has since successfully helped lift more than 435,000 kids out of poverty.
Since 2016, the CCB has put more money in the pockets of 9 out of 10 Canadian families by providing eligible parents with a monthly, tax-free payment to help with the costs of raising children – and today, it’s increasing once again. Supporting parents and guardians means more money for school supplies, nutritious meals, and after-school activities.
But the work does not stop there – the Liberal team is focused on making life more affordable for families, by cutting taxes for the middle class, delivering $10-a-day child care and more spaces across the country, helping Canadians buy their first home, and so much more.
