Mandela Barnes’ campaign to unseat Republican Senator Ron Johnson is gaining serious momentum. Here are some of the latest, on-the-ground updates from Wisconsin.
First: A new Wisconsin poll showed Mandela leading Ron Johnson in a head-to-head match-up by more than any other Democratic candidate — and leading among independent voters!
Then, on Sunday: Mandela dominated the stage at the first Democratic debate. He challenged Johnson’s extreme views on abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, and climate change. He showed everyone he’ll fight for working people in Washington.
And just this week: Mandela secured a huge endorsement from Senator Bernie Sanders, who joins Senator Elizabeth Warren and a growing movement of grassroots leaders and organizations across Wisconsin in supporting this campaign.
All of this adds up to one thing: Mandela Barnes is THE candidate who can send Ron Johnson packing and fight for working families in the Senate. But first, he has to win his crowded primary.
