You probably saw the news about Sen. Manchin sinking Pres. Biden’s climate agenda last week.

We’re disappointed and we’re angry – but we aren’t giving up.

We can still make progress on climate issues, but we need to build a pro-conservation coalition in the Wisconsin government to make it happen.

We need allies at all levels of government – in every corner of the state – to act boldly to protect our democracy and environment. Today, we’re highlighting some key races we need to win to build a pro-conservation coalition.

Angelito Tenorio for

State Treasurer

You might recognize this candidate! We know Angelito Tenorio will fight for a healthy environment because he did just that as a former staff member at Wisconsin Conservation Voters. Angelito Tenorio is the son of Filipino immigrants and a lifelong Wisconsinite dedicated to a cleaner, healthier state. As an alderperson in West Allis, Tenorio worked to transition the city to clean energy. 

As a member of the Milwaukee Environmental Justice Roundtable, he was instrumental in helping create the governor’s Office of Environmental Justice. Tenorio knows how to use the office of state treasurer to address climate change and prioritize clean water and clean energy investments.

Kristin Alfheim for State Senate District 19

Kristin Alfheim is an Appleton City Council member and serves on the city’s Task Force on Resiliency, Climate Mitigation and Adaptation. Alfheim has been a strong, pragmatic leader on the taskforce and we trust her to lead on climate issues in the state senate. Her district is one of our best opportunities to flip a state senate seat from anti to pro-conservation this election cycle.

These leaders will help us build the pro-conservation coalition we need to tackle climate change in Wisconsin – and we need your help to get them elected.
