Hi John,
The political establishment is trying to tip the scales to their corporate favorite.
Shocker.
I knew it was coming, but the state party is denying me access to their voter database and canvassing tool. Even though I’m a Democratic Party precinct committee officer (PCO).
I knew when I announced that it would be hard going up against the establishment, but I’m determined to take on this fight. Here’s why:
You deserve better than politicians who do one thing and say another.
Politicians who say we need universal healthcare but won’t support Medicare for All.
Politicians who say climate change is real and gee whiz, it’s a big problem—but they take Big Oil’s dirty money.
The time for empty promises is done. We need real action now, and that’s why I’m running.
I’ve spent my entire life fighting for progressive values. I’ve been a tenants’ rights activist, a human rights observer in an indigenous Mexican community threatened by paramilitaries, and a court-appointed special advocate for kids in foster care.
So establishment blackballing doesn’t intimidate me.
But I will say one thing: it means I need your help more than ever.
Simply put: I need money to buy access to a canvassing tool, and it doesn’t come cheap.
Solidarity,
-Rebecca
