“If a physician believes that a pregnant patient presenting at an emergency department is experiencing an emergency medical condition… and that abortion is the stabilizing treatment necessary to resolve that condition, the physician must provide that treatment.”
That’s what the Biden Administration ordered earlier this month, John.
All it means is this: Doctors must provide pregnant patients an abortion if necessary to save their lives or preserve their health, no matter what a state’s laws say.
Not controversial, right?
Wrong.
Far-right elected officials in Texas are actually SUING so that hospitals do not have to provide emergency, life-saving abortion care. Governor Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton want pregnant Texans to die rather than compromise their cruel and ultra-radical agenda.
Abortion is essential health care. Abortion saves lives. Texas will turn into a killing field for women and pregnant patients if we let it.
