I'm currently at the Fort Peck Tribal Court 1st Annual Human Trafficking Conference to discuss strategies to stop human trafficking and how to combat the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People crisis, so I thought I'd send out this important message.

As a tenacious advocate for survivors of human trafficking, I cofounded the Yellowstone County Area Human Trafficking Task Force, the largest such task force in Montana.

I have secured funding from the Montana Legislature for additional state agents to investigate human trafficking crimes, co-authored bills to strengthen laws on human trafficking, participated in national committees developing policy on crimes of human trafficking and child sexual abuse material, often referred to as child pornography, and, in 2020, I was the lone Montanan invited to attend the White House Summit on Human Trafficking.

Will you chip in $50 right now to help me stop human trafficking in Congress?

It's safe to say I know what I'm talking about when it comes to stopping human trafficking. Now, I'm not sure I can say the same thing for my opponent, Matt Rosendale.

As a state legislator, Matt Rosendale was one of only 7 state senators to vote against strengthening Montana’s human trafficking laws by allowing survivors an affirmative defense, deeming a survivor's past sexual behavior generally inadmissible, and requiring perpetrators to register as sex offenders.

It gets worse.

In 2015, Rosendale voted against expanding unemployment insurance availability for survivors of domestic violence.

In 2011, Rosendale voted against funding an expansion of a sex crime survivor notification system that tells survivors when their perpetrator gets out of prison. The system would have encompassed 8,400 more felons.

ALL Montanans deserve a Congress member who cares more about protecting THEM - not human traffickers and sex offenders.
