# [#]House Passes Historic Legislation Codifying Gay Marriage!
While my millionaire opponents spend their time attacking me, I’m delivering: just yesterday, I managed the passage in the House of Representatives of my bill codifying gay marriage! This historic legislation will enshrine federal protections for gay marriage.

The Supreme Court’s assault on abortion rights in the Dobbs case contained a chilling concurrence from Justice Thomas calling for the court to look into overturning gay marriage, and we couldn’t afford to wait to take action.

That’s why I led the charge to enshrine these federal protections for the right to marry whomever you love. I first introduced this legislation 10 years ago and was so proud to watch it pass the House yesterday!

I understand deeply that we have a responsibility to protect all Americans from discrimination and that everyone has a right to love and marry whomever they want. With hatred increasingly being deployed as a political strategy, there is no time to waste and the Senate must act on my legislation as soon as possible.
