Foundation News: transitions on staff
This month, we shared the news that two longtime members of the Headwaters team are taking their next steps and will be leaving Headwaters at the end of July.
After 8 years of powerful vision-driven leadership in the service of movements for justice in Minnesota, Headwaters President Maria De La Cruz will be leaving Headwaters.
Read her full announcement to the Headwaters community on our website.<[link removed]>
Also taking her next steps from Headwaters is Allison Johnson Heist, Headwaters’ Vice President of Culture and Partnerships. Allison Johnson Heist joined Headwaters in 2015 and for over 7 years, she has dedicated herself to transforming philanthropy.
We hope you’ll take time to read Allison’s message to the Headwaters community on our website<[link removed]>.
Headwaters is grateful for Maria and Allison’s powerful leadership during their tenures. The work of Headwaters remains more important than ever and we are well positioned, thanks to their leadership, to continue to grow our support of movements for justice in Minnesota.
Join us in celebrating Maria and Allison as they take their next steps!
2022 Giving Project Grantees
The 2022 Giving Project came to an exciting close in June. Thanks to the work of the 20 community grantmakers in the cohort, Headwaters has invested in 17 BIPOC-led organizations fighting for justice in our region. All 17 organizations were awarded 2-year grants totaling $30,000 in unrestricted, general operating funds.
Visit our website for the full list of this year's grantees!<[link removed]>
Each of these grantees is fighting for collective liberation throughout the region. Through diverse strategies, these organizations are building towards their visions of a more just, equitable future.
This year’s grants were made possible by the cohort participants’ hard work, bold asks, and principled engagement in collective process. Join us in celebrating the 2022 Giving Project participants and the newest round of Giving Project Grantees!
